When we arrived home from our Main Street dog walk
D decided to bake (!?)
Before I knew it the dough was made.
Great opportunity to try this.
Boom! Scones are cut and stamped!
D is a man of action.
Such a cute touch.
So, three for me . . .
Is that the smoke alarm I hear?
Ready . . .
set . . .
go!
These were D's words.
Bun doesn't care if the scones are a bit solid.
Apparently, I didn't either.
Thanks, honey. A nice treat . . .
and isn't my new Skitch app neat?

Nice try! :) scones with a stamp on them? No way! Scones need to rise....which would obliterate the stamp.....
Does D do shortbread?
Had to revise my previous comment! It's really tough (no pun intended) to make tender scones. It's all about having really cold fat, a great pastry cutter, and minimum handling. As we used to say in Gr. 10 Foods, "Good effort, David! Keep trying!".
Well, ladies, D is upset now. Having baked at his mother's knee since he was a wee lad, he knows about cold and handling and rising. He knows! He knows! That doesn't mean he can't try to beat the system. You know how men are . . . He promises not to use a mix again. Hee hee!
A mix! For shame David!
It's so unlike him! That whole episode was started before I knew what he was doing.
Aha, I see you have had some fun decorating your photos with arrows and text! So what program did you use to do it? So happy to find your blog, thanks for the heads up. :)
Dayana, I used the You Doodle app and the Skitch app. I have a Mac and the app you suggested won't run on it. Skitch is almost as good . . . almost. Thanks for visiting!
