In 2002 I bought my first Sally Melville pattern book,
Book 1: The Knit Stitch.
Book 2 : The Purl Stitch and Book 3 : Color
followed in quick succession.
There were charming photos of Sally
wearing my preferred foot apparel at that time, so I knew I'd like her stuff.
My first project was the Einstein Coat which saw me through many a chilly morning in my classroom. It was a hit with other staff. Would I knit one for them? Ha, ha, ha, ha . . .
Was this one of the first capelettes?
Recently, I found Sally's blog and this yummy shoulder thingy.
Sally isn't too sure what to call it either, but it caught my eye.
So, since I didn't have stash yarn that met the required gauge,
I deconstructed an unfinished sweater that had been lying dormant,
held the yarn double
and . . .voila . . . L'Enveloppe is on its way.
Just in time for cozy.
Thanks, Sally. You're great!

Happy Knitting!
